Zachary Russell Peters, 31, passed away on October 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, achievement, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Though his life was far too short, the impact he made on family, friends, teammates, colleagues, and all who knew him will endure for generations.

Born on March 2, 1993, in Plano, Texas, to Timothy and Christy Peters, Zachary was known from an early age for his intelligence, determination, and generous spirit. He possessed a natural ability to connect with people and brought enthusiasm, humor, and authenticity into every aspect of his life.

A talented athlete, Zachary attended Prestonwood Christian Academy, where he distinguished himself on the basketball court. As a key contributor to two state championship teams, he demonstrated the leadership, discipline, and competitive drive that would become hallmarks of his character. His success led him to compete at the collegiate level with both the University of Kansas and the University of Arizona. Although injuries altered the trajectory of his athletic career, they never diminished his resilience or determination.

Following his basketball career, Zachary pursued his education at Southern Methodist University, graduating in 2017. He carried the same dedication and work ethic that had defined him as an athlete into his professional life. Building a successful career in the data industry, he contributed to significant projects and worked alongside teams involved in major gubernatorial and presidential campaigns. His intelligence, strategic thinking, and ability to solve complex challenges earned him the respect of colleagues and peers.

Outside of work, Zachary was known for his vibrant personality and his passion for bringing people together. He found great joy in cooking, often creating memorable meals that served as opportunities for connection, laughter, and friendship. Whether hosting family gatherings or spending time with friends, he had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and valued.

Zachary also had a lifelong interest in real estate and architecture. In 2023, he began pursuing that passion through land and home development projects in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The venture reflected both his entrepreneurial spirit and his vision for creating something meaningful and lasting.

Family was at the center of Zachary’s life. He is survived by his parents, Tim and Christy Peters; his brothers, Evan Peters and Garrett Peters (Holly); his beloved nephew, Russell; his grandmother, Mary Weber; his significant other, Caroline Griffith; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell and Delores Zimmermann and William and Florence Peters; his uncle, Lloyd Wood; and his cousin, Joshua Wood.

Those who knew Zachary will remember him for his generous heart, quick wit, adventurous spirit, and unwavering loyalty. He approached life with passion and purpose, inspiring those around him through both his accomplishments and his character.

While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared. Zachary Russell Peters will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
