The Lake Asbury community came together in a moving display of love and remembrance to honor Carson Farias, a 14-year-old boy whose life was tragically cut short following an electric dirt bike accident on Sandridge Road.
On Sunday evening, dozens of students, parents, neighbors, and friends gathered outside Lake Asbury Junior High School for a candlelight vigil celebrating Carson’s life and supporting his grieving family. Candles illuminated the evening as attendees shared memories, offered prayers, and wrote heartfelt messages of comfort and remembrance on poster boards that will be presented to Carson’s mother.
Carson’s mother, Megan Farias, shared the devastating news in an emotional social media post, expressing the profound grief felt by her family.
“There are no words that can truly express the pain our family is feeling right now. Carson was deeply loved and will forever remain in our hearts.”
The vigil was organized in part by local parent Courtney Bailey, whose daughter attends Lake Asbury Junior High and shares many mutual friends with Carson. Although Bailey did not know Carson personally, she felt compelled to create a space where students and community members could gather, support one another, and honor his memory.
“What started as a gathering for Carson’s friends to come together and support each other quickly grew into something much larger,” Bailey explained. “The community wanted to show his family that they are surrounded by love.”
The event reflected the tremendous impact Carson had on those around him. Friends, classmates, and neighbors came together not only to mourn his passing but also to celebrate the joy, friendship, and memories he brought into their lives.
Messages written on the poster boards expressed love, sympathy, and gratitude, offering Carson’s family tangible reminders of the community’s support during an unimaginably difficult time.
As Lake Asbury continues to grieve, residents are finding strength in one another and in the memories they shared with Carson. Though his life was far too short, those who knew him will remember his spirit, his friendships, and the lasting impression he made on his community.
Carson Farias will be remembered with love by his family, friends, classmates, and all whose lives he touched. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who gathered to honor him and in the community that has united to support his family during this time of profound loss.
